Congratulations to the Power Band of Arkansas!

The Power Band earned the Silver Medal at State Marching Band contest held in Little Rock Monday, November 2nd.  In addition, The Power Band earned the High Music score in Class 6A, and earned their 5th consecutive 1st division rating at State Marching Contest.

We are SO very proud of our student's work this season!  They displayed excellent sportsmanship, and as always represented Lake Hamilton with class and pride.

Lake Hamilton proudly presents two new band directors.  Welcome!

Congratulations to senior class president Matt Novak!

Each year Winter Guard International awards over $40,000 in scholarship fund to 20 deserving students from groups competing at World Championships. They have awarded over one million dollars over the past 40 years. Each of the over 500 units participating is allowed to choose one applicant to represent their ensemble.

Matt was chosen by the band staff to apply on behalf of Lake Hamilton High School.

We found out the last week of March that Matt was one of 20 out of several hundred applicants to earn scholarships funds from WGI.  It's a huge honor, and shows that the committee saw in his application what we all see in him each day.  WGI announced the full list of winners this past Saturday as part of [I]amWGI Day.

Congrats to Matt!  The Lake Hamilton Power Band, parents and staff are so proud of you!

Congratulations Lake Hamilton Bands

Composition Dedication - 'Gold' by D. Riley Nicholson

  D. Riley Nicholson has composed for a wide range of ensembles and performance venues including music for contemporary ballet, theater, orchestral music, wind band, chamber music, vocal music, and electronic music. He is a graduate of Lake Hamilton High School, the University of Memphis, and the San Francisco Conservatory of Music.

The Lake Hamilton Wind Symphony premiered this latest composition dedicated to the Lake Hamilton band program entitled, 'Gold'.

The program notes describe Gold as a composition of music 'inspired by the spirit of the Lake Hamilton band program, whose energy, spirit, and drive is palpable as they strive for excellence. Gold is representative of the ensemble itself: the energy of potential, and the opportunity to succeed, grow, fail, try, and go for the gold in each moment.'

Congratulations to the following Junior High and Middle School Students for making the 2020 ASBOA Region II All-Region Honor Band.
